After Work

We went for a simple dinner after work nearby my workplace. The hubs was not at work, so he took this opportunity to pickup Kenzie boy earlier from the kindy, and let him tag along when he came to pick me up from work. We then went to Chili's, Citta Mall after work for dinner.

On the way to the restaurant, Kenzie boy saw this, and wanted to ride. It was RM1, so I said ok (haha, kiamsap mum). This cartoon character is called the Paddington Bear, but he didn't look cute to me here. In fact, he looked scary. Even the ride did not have any (cute) music, only some grunting coarse sound, eeewww.

We arrived Chili's and while looking at the menu, the waiter gave Kenzie some activity sheets to play with. Not bad. This activitiy sheets could keep him quiet while we selected what to eat from the menu.

While waiting for our food, hehe, this haupoh mummy wanted to snap some photo first.
P/S: No big polka ribbon, just a small pinky butterfly clip, haha.

Ok, the food arrived already. I had chicken mushroom soup. Very creamy, and it tasted good for so many years we patronized Chili's.

The hubs had beef soup. Not very creamy. Like oxtail soup. So so, but he said it was good.

Kid's meal - Mac & cheese. Needless to say, Kenzie boy was very picky and he only ate 1 spoon of this. Usually when I cook maceroni at home, he has no problem to finish it, so I chose mac & cheese from the kid's menu, but to my horror, he only touched 1 spoon. Sigh.

The hubs ordered sirloin strip. Meat wasn't very tender, but it was acceptable.

I ordered what else but my favourite burger? I always order burger when I dine at Chili's. This time, I ordered a beef bacon burger (with mash) instead of fries, if you know me.

When I saw Kenzie boy was not eating, I ordered a side for him - rice. He usually has no problem finishing half a plate of fried rice when we eat out, so I thought this will do the trick to get him to eat. But no, when the rice came, he ate 1 spoon, then, spitted it out. Gawd, I could go crazy and I could do anything, and I mean anything, to see him eat (just 1 scoop of rice). Please boy, pretty please, I'm begging you.

We finished our meal about one hour later and went home after that (what else?). Overall, I was satisfied and happy (except that Kenzie boy didn't eat anything and just survived on 2 cups of Milo) as I could spend quality time with the hubs and the boy.

  3. Hi Louiz! I love Chillis. I usually go to the one at 1-Utama but not that often. I usually order the beef ribs or chicken crispers (the one with Chipotle sauce). I also like the burgers. I think your Mac and Cheese taste better that's why Kenzie boy ate only 1 spoon. You really look so young!

    1. Ooohh, I love the chicken crispers too, but I always go for the one with honey mustard sauce.. I can't say no to honey mustard, yummeh.. Nope, I don't cook mac & cheese at home.. I only cook mac in (leftover) abc soup, then crack an egg.. Really..

Haha, me look young? Thank you, I always get that compliment, really. But if you look closer enough, you can see my deep opened pores and fine lines round my eyes :)

So wanna ask why your son doesnt take rice ah? Does he take porridge then?

    1. Oh yes, I'm a big eater, so I enjoy Chilis too.. Gotta agree with you the portion is memang big - all time.

My son is a picky eater from young. Dunno you belif or not, from day 1 he started porridge, I have been throwing the porridge since. Whatever I cook, he would only eat 1 or 2 mouths, and then pursed mouth til the end.

Started getting better when he started to taste adult food, like rice with gravy or soup, but til today, depends on mood. Sometimes he would not touch those too and only survive on Milo and bread (with jam).

Oh, he eats egg without the yolk. Only whites. Doesn't eat pork, chicken or fish. Beef lagi no need to say. Only recently, he started eating minced pork, but depends also.. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. He likes maggi mee with egg tho'. So I like to make mee soup for him, crack an egg, so that he eats the whole egg (with yolk) without realizing it..

  6. so early went back to work already?? actually good also lah, because many people are still enjoying their holidays, so the office will be quiet and not really a lot of things to do, most importantly when there are less people, there are a hell less interruptions so that you can do you own things smoothly and get them done much quicker.. only when everyone started to come back to work, then it will be nice to go on holiday~~ haha!!

    1. good lah, your hubby not working and can bring Kenzie to go fetch you for dinner after work.. errr, how come only Kenzie?? so bias one?? never even bother to bring Baby G out ah?? or he was being "prisoned" by your mom at home?? hahahaha.. anyway, one is better lah, if two i think surely you won't be able to have your dinner "ngon lork"-ly one lor.. with just one boy to take care, two adults to one, surely no problem and you also have spare time to camwhore selfie mah right?? if both follow together, then one person jaga one, where got time to do other things??

    2. aiyoh, i always like Chili's one lah, i think their food more ngam my taste lor if compared to the competitors of the same range - the T-something-F and T-something-R.. but then haiyoh, you always eat their burgers ah?? you are Burger Queen men?? errr, i remember i always order their appetiser platter to share, and then for myself, the fried chicken strips lor, easy to eat and then (feel like) not so heavy mah..

    3. hmmm, Kenzie didn't like the mac and cheese and also the rice you ordered for him?? aiyoh, maybe he's too used to your one-pot-cook-all cooking already lah, that's why he didn't know how to appreciate nicer food outside!!! muahahahahahaha.. maybe you cannot serve him with just the dish as it is, have to campur this and that from other dishes, like you always do at home, maybe more chappalang then only he will like.. aiyoyo, his taste so special right?? and then nice food in Chili's he also ate one spoon only but ended up drinking Milo only~~ =.="

    4. Hah, started work on Wednesday considered early ahh? Some people I know already started work on Monday, mostly on Tuesday. But some people in the office, like today, take leave again, coz pai tin kung ma.. So they need to prepare the prayers stuff and all.

Yes, hubby only starts work today. Cho8. Baby G was at my mum's house la. By the way, she is helping to takecare of baby coz nanny is inconvenient for the time being. So, kin pou hang pou lor.. Long story.. Got chance only story you, ok..

I hate that T-something-F-something, the portion is not very big and it's more pricey. But I like T-something-R-something. Their fried mushroom is to die for, with that killer honey mustard sauce.. I can "drink" it and swallow like beer, kekekeke..

Ala, this Kenzie is a fussy eater, you know rite.. From the 1st day I cooked porridge for him (when he was 8 months old), I have been throwing the porridge since.. You name it - chicken porridge, fish porridge, potato-carrot porridge, even dried scallop oyster porridge.. I tried feeding him "adult" porridge like "hamtan-peitan" porridge, also cannot.. Started getting better after he takes rice, but it depends.. Sometimes, he hates rice.. He likes noodles, bihun and maceroni, but that day in Chilis, dunno why he didn't want the mac.

Like you said, take him go to eat expensive food also tak guna punya, this don't want, that don't want. Only want the Milo only. "kek sei ngo"..

    1. Oh yes, can't deny the mac & cheese is very starchy and not enuff "cheesy" taste.. Kekeke.. Well, to console myself and make myself better, yeah, maybe he's smart enuff not to eat more than 3 spoons, haha..

  9. Hello. Finally I found time to visit all blogs except SK's which has been a daily shrine. I have been eating non stop CNY dinners everyday until my face looks like a bowl of Poon Choy! I never had so many rounds of Yee Sang and Poon Choy all my life until 2014. I guess fate is kind, no complains.

  10. I am a huge fan of Chillis and Tony Romas because their yummy food and price is okay. I avoid that Fridays outlets due to bad service and robbery menus. You are just like all mummies who would sapu all the kids' left overs without ordering much for yourself. That is mother's sweetest love!

  11. I have only visited Citta Mall once and it looked like a quiet place on a weekend. I felt the Feng shui in that area like vacuum after the airport was relocated. Just my guess.
