The Next In-Thing

So, this is the next in-thing that is happening in the office. Crunchy oats+cereals called Date & Fate (I'm NOT selling nor advertising for this product), but well, just to let you know what's happening in the office.

People sell, people buy, I also buy. That's it. I bet (most) girls are like that. You see others buy, you also want to buy.

Here's my Date & Fate, with the tagline - Date & Fate, bring us Fate & make us Date.
Duh, so lame!

Very colourful individual packaging inside. It's good for munching in the office aka "itchy mouth" time. I like small individually-packed goodies, easy & convenient, yes?

Here is how it looks like. Crunchy oats+cereals coated in white chocolate (they claimed).

I can finish the whole thing in one bite. Sometimes I eat just like that, sometimes I open a few packets and dump them into my Milo.

Call me cheapo, but since muesli bars are so expensive to eat nowadays, when colleagues recommend these, I grabbed two boxes without thinking. It certainly looks like muesli, tastes like muesli too, but of course, the real thing is more delicious, with real fruits and all.

  1. Date & Fate, bring us Fate & make us Date. Dunno what that means. You're sure they did not add one "e" too many? Have a DATE and make us FAT?

  11. oh, so in meh this thing?? call me jakun but i have not heard of this Date & Fate thing, and this is the first time i have seen it because you posted it here, haha!! so where does this Date & Fate come from?? it has got a rather weird tagline lah BTW, don't really get what they mean with that.. but then maybe some direct translation from Chinese and they wanted to say something like "yuen fun" (love and destiny)?? anyway, who cares lah, just open up the box and then pour out the contents and keep them somewhere lor.. i dunno you lah, but for me hor, i always find those packaging box very "jor deng" one, the box so big but inside just a few pieces, they use plastic compartments inside, i sure unpack and throw them all away one lah, save space mah.. somemore in the office, if open up the box and then the plastic, like very high profile and "dai jan jeong" lor making all the noises, as if people dunno you are eating something like that.. so better unpack all at once, keep on the table or drawer, when want to makan just grab one so conveniently (and secretly) pop into the mouth mah.. and this one so small, sure one mouth one piece and then slowly munch lor.. but then can be quite dangerous also, because one piece one mouth like that, you may not know how much you have eaten, especially this one so small a piece, and then suddenly "bud jee bud gork" you realized you almost, if not already, finished the whole packet!! i am sure this always happen to Princess Glutton lah, right?? hahahaha~~ :D

  12. looks quite familiar leh this oat & cereal ball (or whatever you call it).. Hayley sent me some she bought from Hatyai (thank you Hayley, i am her top commenter so she sent me as hadiah, haha) i think they are the same thing.. nice to eat woh, crispy and crunchy like that with a hint of chocolate, i think the chocolate is used to bind the oats together hor?? she gave me two pieces and i straight away habis all, haha.. i said jor mah, this kind of snacks very dangerous geh, you won't realize geh.. and yalor, i have to agree with you both hands and both legs up!! last time i used to have muesli campur yoghurt for breakfast geh.. wah, that time like so high class because nobody in the office have seen this kind of things before mah.. so for many years i also eat like that.. but then hor, muesli getting more expensive (actually last time also very expensive lah, i bought the cheapest one also RM15 for 1kg lor, and last me like 10 days only), and the yoghurt also unbelievably expensive, the price keep on increasing and yet i realize they use less milk but more thickener jor, i felt like eating starch lor.. now one little cup of yoghurt at least RM1.50 (yalah, i buy those local ones lah, imported ones nicer and more genuine but RM5 at least one cup, how to eat right??).. so now i have to resort to those instant oats lor, not even milk or yoghurt to go with it (dairy products getting more and more expensive mah), so just hot water will do lah.. very bland one, but i add in some raisins and sunflower seeds to add a little bit of taste lor.. like that lor my breakfast on working day is everyday like that geh.. only non working days i go out eat mee ah nasi lemak ah roti canai those for breakfast lor..

    1. My colleague belanja me 1 bar of Kellogg's muesli bar.. RM12 for 6 small bars only !! I asked him, you want me to pay you back RM2? He said no of coz, but really, it's so mahal la.. I wonder how you wana eat muesli bars every morning.. Put in my mouth also I "mm seh tak" ahh..

Oh yes, your method is very high class.. Muesli bars + yogurt, looks like healthy + rich person eating rich breakfast, really! Like siew yeh zhai babe ! As for yogurt, call me cheapo, I buy yogurt for Kz every week.. He has 1 cup every night.. You know what I do? I scrape the leftovers and eat that only la.. Cham mou? Kekekeke.. I let him eat whatever he wants, so whatever's left, I lick it clean lor.. Oppps, typo, not lick, but I scrapped it clean lor..

Yup, I know you add hot water into your oats.. You mentioned before.. But I think I cannot la.. I must add condensed milk if I'm having oats, hehe.. Really very sedap one you know.. Of coz not a lot la.. Little bit will do.. And for a change, I will add Bovril too, and it turns into savoury oats! Yummzzzz

    2. Hehe you are most welcome SK! Paiseh I cannot send you more as I only bought a packet, will send more to you in the future if you like ;)

  13. Rm13 a big packet with how many small packets inside? I am always looking out for these cereals but not really bars because bars are usually sweeter because they need the syrup or chocolate or honey to stick the cereal together to be a bar. Didn't see this brand selling in supermarkets. If these can keep the mouth from being itchy very good la. Munch munch work work then can go home liao. Make the workday goes faster too.

    1. RM 13 for 50 (very small) packs.. It taste like oats, ok, the texture and everything.. But being human, I will also wonder, is it REALLY oats? Coz so cheap wor, RM13 only, dunno is it the real thing or not only..

      Delete
    2. I saw from your photo 1 small pack is 7g so 50packs mean 350g only. Usually I buy Post whole grain cereal is about RM14 for 453g so RM13 ia not really that cheap if really 350g only.

      Delete
    3. Wah, good analysis wor.. The good thing about this one is that they are individually packed, so I can munch a few packs whenever I want.. Hmm, then RM13 for 50 packs is equivalent to a packet of Post cereals.. Hmm, something to ponder..

  14. I've never seen this before, but it should be a great snacks especially for the kids. What is the differences between the blue and red packaging ? Are these sweets ? Looks like very sweet to me as you mentioned coated with white chocolates. I never like muesli or oats. But I love crunchy snacks.

    1. Hehe, my version of "in" = everyone's talking about it and everyone's buying it in the office, so I just follow lor.. A few colleagues who saw this said they saw the same thing in FB, everyone's hoo-haa-ing about it.. But honestly, I don't see it anywhere in FB, hehe..
